Farm Food HE Dog Food
HE Dog Food
Farm Food HE is a high-quality pressed food that is suitable for all dogs, regardless of age, vitality or breed. We call it our All Life Stages concept. It is based on the fact that dogs' digestion works in the same way as their ancestors, the wolves. In nature, wolves and other canids eat the same types of game, regardless of age. Young and pregnant animals eat more, older animals eat less. This leads to the puppies growing evenly without annoying growing pains.
FarmFood HE Cold Pressed Dog Food
Dog food of particularly high quality for all dogs from puppy to senior.
Developed by veterinarians in the Netherlands - 2; 4 or 12 kg
FarmFood HE Cold Pressed Dog Food
Thanks to his knowledge and experience in animal feed in general (both in the Netherlands and abroad), Ing. Gerrit de Weerd in 1982 participated in the development of a dog food that will serve as a neutral test food in a study of the quality of different types of dog food available on the market at that time.
Based on Dutch beef, which is also intended for humans, a pressed pill is developed without any kind of addition of things like dyes, flavors, antioxidants, etc.
The requirement is that the food should be suitable for dogs of all ages and conditions. This assumes the simple fact that all wild animals in the canine family in the wild, from puppy to senior, eat as needed from the range of prey available at the time.
Since the study in 1984, after 2 years, has come to an end, it turns out that a number of dog breeders, due to the fine results, would like to continue using the neutral "all life stage" food. It is therefore decided on a small scale to market the neutral test food under the name Farm Food HE. Word-of-mouth advertising has increased steadily since 1984.
In principle, the composition of the food is the same as at the beginning, and we still get positive expressions. The most striking and common reaction is that older dogs who switch to Farm Food HE have a second youth, and that they reach an age of well over 10 years across a wide range.
Of course, Farm Food HE has been improved over the years, both according to its own and scientific insights, but without forgetting the original philosophy: "one type of food for all dogs of all ages and in all circumstances".
The Farmfood HE series was developed by veterinarians in the Netherlands.
Composition:
meat meal, extruded corn, hemoglobin powder, extruded wheat, extruded rice, beef fat, whey powder, brewer's yeast, plant fibers, cold-pressed sunflower oil, minerals, lecithin, cold-pressed linseed oil, inulin, vitamins and trace elements.
Digestibility: 87%
The bag contains 12 kg
Contains no chemical antioxidants, preservatives, added colors, fragrances or flavors.
Thanks to the purity of the raw materials used, it is not necessary to add chemical antioxidants and preservatives to Farm Food HE. This is also the reason for Farm Food HE's limited shelf life (up to 6 months after production). Among other things, since no preservatives have been added, it is important that the feed can "breathe", so that fermentation and fungus formation are avoided.
This means that Farm Food HE must NOT be stored airtight in barrels or anything else where no oxygen can get in!
Farm Food HE contains no binders
Binders are often added to make the pill harder. The downside, however, is that they bind certain trace elements in the intestinal tract so that they cannot be absorbed. This can lead to an imbalance in the food, which in the long run has a very unfortunate effect on the dog's health. However, if no binders are used, it means that sometimes a little flour or grit can form. But we are happy to include that, because it is first and foremost about your dog's health!
Farm Food HE is not extruded
Farm Food HE is cold pressed. To prevent valuable nutrients such as protein and fat from being damaged or vitamins from being lost, Farm Food HE is not extruded but cold pressed. All ingredients that must be cooked in order to be consumed properly (cereals) have first been processed before being incorporated into the final composition.
Dogs gain a happier and more stable character
We hear time and again that dogs have become happier and more adaptable after switching to Farm Food HE. This is due to the pure, top-quality ingredients we use. Since we mainly use (Dutch) beef proteins and the best quality hemoglobin powder, a protein content of 24% is required to fully cover the need for amino acids. As a result, significantly less waste products are formed during consumption, so the liver is less stressed.
And the fact that we have not added dyes, fragrances and flavors or chemical antioxidants, binders and preservatives to Farm Food HE likely has a positive effect on the rating.
The dogs become stronger and more muscular
Dogs naturally eat mammals. Therefore, the natural nutritional pattern of dogs has been taken into account during the development of Farm Food HE. Therefore, beef and hemoglobin powder are used in the production of Farm Food HE as a protein source. The amino acid pattern in beef most closely corresponds to the natural development of the body in dogs. This makes dogs stronger and more muscular.
Farm Food HE does not contain chicken or other poultry
Since most of the chicken (poultry) used comes from animals that have been slaughtered during the peak of the growing season (broiler chickens from 5 to 6 weeks old), the chicken body contains many naturally occurring growth hormones (these natural growth hormones are produced in the pituitary gland of the chicken). In addition, the cartilage contains a lot of proline, a so-called "amino acid", which counteracts the effect of real amino acids (proline is an antagonist).
It is our experience that a combination of the above factors has a negative impact on the overall health of the dog. In particular, the growth of young dogs and the fertility of older dogs seem to be negatively affected by the natural growth hormones. However, if adult hens are used (for example, slaughtered after they no longer lay eggs), these negative effects do not occur or are much less severe.
Young dogs grow more regularly
When puppies are fed Farm Food HE from the start, in combination with Farm Food Fresh Callus & Heart Complete, they grow more regularly, without the known growth fluctuations and growing pains. This regular growth means better development of the bones and ensures that the dog's ligaments and tendons can also, and in relation to bone development, develop at a regular pace, so that they become more stable.
We often hear from dog breeders that dogs always grow in the "right ratio". It is also worth noting here that it seems that the dogs grow slower compared to puppies from the same litter that have been fed a different food, but once they have grown they are the same size. Especially in large breeds this is very noticeable.
The coat becomes better and fuller
Especially when using pure beef fat, which is not heated to more than 90°C before being processed into Farm Food HE, (supplemented with lecithin and cold-pressed linseed oil or Scottish salmon oil for extra omega 3 and 6 fatty acids), the dogs' metabolism is not so stressed. Farm Food HE is not extruded but cold-pressed, and this definitely benefits the skin and coat quality.
These things, together with the high protein quality and the fact that no binders, chemical antioxidants and preservatives are used, are among the reasons why feed-related skin and coat problems are avoided and the coat color and texture are back to the way they should be!
Older dogs get a "second youth"
A striking number of Farm Food HE customers say that older dogs continue to be more active and satisfied with life than dogs of the same age fed another food.
We also regularly hear from dog owners that their dog has entered a "second youth" after switching to Farm Food HE. This is solely due to the unique composition and purity of Farm Food HE, which also remains completely intact because the food is not extruded but cold-pressed.
Farm Food HE provides a nice stool
Dogs fed Farm Food HE usually have very fine stools. No thin stools with a strange color but nice, dark canines. Compared to the stools of other dogs, the stools of dogs fed Farm Food HE are much darker. This is simply because the food is easily digestible.
Farm Food HE contains a lot of energy per kilo with a digestibility of over 86%, and therefore the amount of feces, after getting used to it, is relatively small. However, the stool contains enough moisture so that the dog does not have to squeeze. The consistency of the stool ensures that the anal glands are also "massaged" when the dog caresses.
Farm Food HE is intended for all dogs of all ages
Since dogs of different ages or under different circumstances only need more or less of the same food, which is in biological equilibrium, you can feed all your dogs, from puppy to senior, with one and the same Farm Food HE food. If your dog suffers from a gluten allergy, there is a special (wheat) gluten-free composition with the same specifications.
For puppies and small breeds, there is Farm Food HE “Mini” with exactly the same composition as the normal food, but the pellets are a little smaller (6 mm), so it is easier for puppies or small breeds to eat.
Farm Food HE, a good source of prebiotics
Farm Food HE contains prebiotics in the form of inulin; an insoluble sugar (FOS), which is extracted from chicory, among others. Farm Food HE is therefore an excellent way to provide the good bacteria in the intestinal flora with extra nutrition.
Farm Food HE can be perfectly combined and mixed with Farm Food Fresh Complete. Farm Food HE is therefore a really good choice in addition to Farm Food Fresh Fresh Meat.
Pure raw materials and ingredients, which are also intended for humans.
The same requirements apply to the quality of all raw materials and ingredients in Farm Food HE as food intended for human consumption. The composition and quality of the raw materials used in Farm Food HE ensure an optimal biological balance, the high biological value of the proteins and an optimal digestibility of over 86%.
Number of grams of Farm Food HE, per kilogram of body weight, per day
Look at the picture!
The above amounts are based on the average food requirements of dogs in relation to the nutritionally measured nutrient content of Farm Food HE.
Important! Feed with your eyes!! Because no two dogs are the same.
Our feeding table gives guidance on how much your dog can eat per kilogram of body weight. Not all dogs are the same. This is because a dog may need a little more or a little less than the guide we recommend. We therefore recommend that you keep an eye on your dog: Feed with your eyes!! You may want to feel your dog's ribs, but you may not be able to see them.
What is a semi-adult dog?
This is a question we get asked regularly. We assume that a semi-adult dog is between 7 and 8 months old. Most dogs are adult (food wise) when they are 16 months old. This depends on the size of the breed. Smaller breeds are relatively older (in weight) than larger breeds. It is important that during this period the food is slowly reduced to an adult dose.
Example:
Small breeds: a puppy of 5 months and weighing 4 kilos.
See our Farm Food HE feeding table (second column) at 42 - 31 grams per. kg body weight. A puppy that now weighs between 1 and 5 kg must start at 6 weeks of age with 42 grams per. kg body weight and reduce to 31 grams per. kg body weight over a period of 7 months.
How much food can this puppy get now:
42-31 = 11 grams, which is slowly reduced over 7 months.
You divide 11 grams by 7 = 1.6 grams. Per month, you subtract 1.6 grams from 42 grams.
For an age of 5 months the following applies: 42 grams - 8 grams (1.6 grams x 5 months) = 34 grams x 4 kilos body weight = 136 grams Farm Food HE per day, divided into 4 meals.
You then give 34 grams of Farm Food HE per. meal.
Large breeds: a puppy of 5 months and weighing 15 kilos.
See our Farm Food HE feeding table (second column) at 26 - 19 grams per. kg body weight. A puppy that now weighs between 10 and 20 kg must start at 6 weeks of age with 26 grams per. kg body weight and slowly reduce to 19 grams per. kg body weight over a period of 8 months. The reduction over 8 months is due to the fact that large dogs become semi-adults relatively later.
How much food can this puppy get now:
26-19 = 7 grams, which is slowly reduced over 8 months.
You divide 7 grams by 8 = 0.9 grams. Per month you subtract 0.9 grams from 26 grams.
For an age of 5 months: 26 grams - 4.5 grams (0.9 grams x 5 months) = 21.5 grams x 15 kilos body weight = 323 grams Farm Food HE per day, divided into 4 meals. You then give 81 grams Farm Food HE per meal.
A semi-adult dog of 12 months and weighing 22 kilograms.
See our Farm Food HE table (third column) at 17-11 grams per. kg body weight. A semi-adult dog weighing between 20 and 30 kg starts with 17 grams per. kg body weight and steps down to 11 grams per. kg body weight by 16 months of age.
How much food can you now give this semi-adult dog:
17-11 = 6 g, which should be tapered slowly over 8 months.
You divide 6 grams by 8 = 0.75 grams. Per month you subtract 0.75 grams from 17 grams.
For an age of 12 months: 17 grams - 3 grams (0.75 grams x 4 months) = 14 grams x 22 kilos body weight = 308 grams Farm Food HE per day, divided into 3 meals. You then give approx. 103 grams Farm Food HE per meal.
An adult dog weighing 25 kilograms.
See our Farm Food HE feeding table (fourth column) at 11 grams per kilogram of body weight. An adult dog weighing between 20 and 30 kg gets 11 grams per kilogram of body weight.
How much food can you now give this adult dog:
You give 11 grams x 25 kilograms = 275 grams of Farm Food HE per day, divided into 2 meals. You then give 137.5 grams of Farm Food HE per meal.
