Instructions

Always use clean materials and boil the bottle and pacifier to ensure good hygiene.

For the right amount of milk you need to mix about 7.5 grams of Farm Food No. 1 in 25 ml of water, or 30 grams of Farm Food No. 1 per 100 ml of water. Since the density of the powder increases over time, it is advisable to weigh the correct amount all the time using a scale.

  • Stir the powder into warm water (40-50°C).
  • Let the milk cool to ± 38°C.

The daily amount of milk a puppy/kitten needs depends on its weight. Approximate values: puppies 15 ml of dissolved milk per 100 grams of body weight per day and kittens 20 ml of dissolved milk per 100 grams of body weight per day.

For example, a 300 gram puppy needs about 3 x 15 = 45 ml of milk per day and a 80 gram kitten needs about 0.8 x 20 = 16 ml per day.

Feed until the young animal is satisfied, unless it is the first feeding. In this case, feed less but more often.

Feeding advice when there is no breast milk

For young mammals, it is very important that they are fed regularly.

When the mother dog initially does not have milk, it is very difficult to estimate whether the puppy sometimes gets some milk from the mother. That is why it is very important to assess the needs of the young animal and it is important to supplement the feeding with Farm Food No 1.

Always continue to stimulate the young mammals to drink from their mother.

Puppies, kittens and other newborn small mammals less than a week old need to be fed every two hours, ten times a day. After 7 days, you can feed every 2 ½ hours and after 14 days, every three hours. Usually, you can skip one or two feedings at night.

Feeding advice when there is too little breast milk

When the mother has too little milk or when the nest is The easiest method to achieve this goal is to divide the amount of powder per liter into two parts, so that the fluid requirements are met with part of the feeding requirement at hand. In case the babies do not drink enough (or are not willing to drink), you can always supplement the feeding with Farm Food No 1. If necessary, you can switch to the regular dosage during the second week.

It is very difficult to estimate how much milk a baby animal receives from its mother and whether all babies drink the same amount. That is why it is very important to keep track of the needs of each young animal individually.

IMPORTANT: Feed with your eyes! No two baby mammals are the same.

Massage the belly of puppies, kittens and/or newborn young mammals after each feeding to help with bowel movements!

Also suitable for the mother

During pregnancy and lactation, the mother dog needs a lot of nutrients and can therefore, in addition to the regular feeding, also drink Farm Food No. 1 as a supplementary feeding to get a little extra strength and to stimulate her milk production.
